The Germany Dependent Visa, officially known as the Family Reunion Visa (Familienzusammenführung), allows family members of individuals residing in Germany to join them for long-term stays. This visa facilitates the reunification of spouses, minor children, and, in certain cases, other dependents with their family members living in Germany.
Eligibility
For Spouses:
- Must be legally married to the resident in Germany.
- Spouse in Germany must have a valid residence permit or be a German citizen.
- The applicant may need to demonstrate basic German language skills (A1 level), unless exempted.
For Children:
- Must be under 18 years of age.
- At least one parent must reside in Germany.
- If only one parent resides in Germany, they must have sole custody or the consent of the other parent.
For Other Family Members:
- In exceptional cases, other dependents may be eligible if they are unable to care for themselves and rely on the family member in Germany for support.
